Enhanced Data Destruction
For organizations requiring enhanced e-waste data destruction, ERI offers upgraded services including multiple pass wiping and/or media shredding. These services can be performed on-site or at ERI’s secure facilities. Full chain of custody is maintained throughout, supported by TSA-certified drivers, tamper-proof lock boxes, and optional video-verifiable data destruction, all within NAID-certified protocols. In addition, our Optech™ Capture™ technology allows for on-site serialization prior to secure transport to an ERI facility, providing a fully digital true chain of custody from the moment a device is picked up to its final disposition at ERI.

Clarification on DoD 5220.22-M “Standard”
ERI frequently fields inquiries regarding DOD 5220.22-M. It’s important to clarify that this is not a current data sanitization standard, but rather a legacy overwrite method first referenced in 1995. The industry now aligns with NIST 800-88 Rev1 as the regulatory benchmark for electronic waste data destruction. However, ERI remains fully capable of executing both three-pass and seven-pass overwriting methods upon request.
